A Message from ShowingTime re: COVID-19
March 18, 2020
Dear Clients,
As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we’re focusing on the well-being and safety of clients, staff and families, our highest priority. We are taking measures to respond to this pandemic while we continue to serve your business needs. During this rapidly evolving crisis, we have been monitoring developments closely and are following all recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We remain open and operational as we’re fortunate to have the technological bandwidth and capabilities to serve our clients remotely. While the virus is proving most serious for the elderly or those with existing health conditions, we realize all of us are at risk and want to help limit the spread of COVID-19:
- All our employees are currently working remotely.
- Day-to-day business activities are continuing.
- Our team is foregoing travel for the near future.
- We’ve posted a webpage that shows the impact of COVID-19 on showings, www.showingtime.com/impact-of-coronavirus/.
- We’ve also added notifications to showing agents asking them to confirm that, to their knowledge, they do not have COVID-19, when scheduling a showing.
- Overlapping showings are being discouraged so agents may show homes without concern that another agent will be there, in line with recommendations to practice social distancing.
The CDC is currently recommending people not gather in groups of 10 or more. Additionally, restrictions have been announced in many states to postpone public gatherings larger than 50 people. Best Practices for ShowingTime Setup:
When setting up your listings, you can choose “No” for “Allow Overlapping Showings” in the Appointment Restrictions. The Set Up Listings in ShowingTime user guide can help you with this.
We’re encouraging our team to stay current by visiting the CDC’s website and other news websites for the latest updates. Additional information about the impact of COVID-19 on the real estate industry can be found on the National Association of REALTOR’s website. We’d suggest referencing any communications from your Association and MLS to verify any protocols or policies for your local market. We remain committed to you during these challenging times and will continue to provide the same level of quality service that you have come to expect from ShowingTime. We hope that you and your loved ones are and will remain safe and well. Sincerely, Scott Woodard Chairman & CEO ShowingTime
March 23, 2020 Dear Members, Due to overwhelming agent demand and a desire for the safest possible showings for all concerned, ShowingTime will be updating all current listings and the default for new listings to be “No Overlapping Showings” so that by default two showing agents won’t be scheduled to be in the same property at the same time. Agents and offices can change their defaults later when or if they deem it appropriate, but we want to make sure that the default assumption on any listings in the ShowingTime system is “no overlap” unless specifically designated by the listing agent or listing office. As always, ShowingTime is here, available, and working hard to do all that we can to make sure you are kept informed and safe during these trying times. We are keeping the page updated daily on the impact of COVID-19 on showings here: https://www.showingtime.com/impact-of-coronavirus/ and will continue to keep you updated as we learn things or make changes to help MLSs, brokers, and agents through this process. Thank you, Bill Kellogg Chief Information Officer, ShowingTime
